Being a part of the pharmaceutical empire means that cosmetics play a large role in one of the most profitable industries in the world. Naturally this has led to the number of different makeup brands and products growing ever higher and, in order to successfully compete in such an ambitious industry, these brands have to stand out. One of the ways in which they achieve this is by going down the “natural & green” route.

However, while some brands do genuinely do their best to stay true to the philosophy in question and source natural and organic ingredients, other companies are guilty of greenwashing.

I firmly believe that everything that people need to survive, whether its medicine, food or beauty products, should and can be obtained by means of ingredients from nature. In line with these values, I find myself at odds with both brands who are indifferent to being natural and green and brands who only pretend to be concerned with such matters. On this blog I hope to elucidate some of these issues and help you understand why it is of such vital importance to know what you are putting on, and in, your body.

I should add that I am in no way a qualified scientist, cosmetologist or anything else akin to such professions. The contents of this blog is simply research that I have conducted for my own interest and use and that I am simultaneously sharing with you.

I really hope you enjoy reading my blog and, fingers crossed, learn something new. Nicky x
